Making exercise a daily habit rather than an annual resolution

It’s easy to make a resolution, it’s flippin’ difficult to ingrain a good habit.
Why does regular exercise seem so hard to fit into a daily schedule? Am I dense, or am I seeking perfection? If I can’t fit in a longer workout, too often I don’t bother to work in smaller ones.

Adjustments

My dear friend, R-Squared, sent me an email about her life view at the moment.  Her father died a few weeks ago from complications after surgery. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with the same cancer his wife passed away from, albeit in an earlier stage than hers was when discovered.
Battling why, and grief, and intermittent [...]

Quinoa Pilaf

If you’d asked me three years ago if I would try quinoa, I wouldn’t have known how to respond. I didn’t know what it was. Today, I’m asking, “Where have you been all my life?!” Quinoa is good for you, the taste of the seed is creamy and a little nutty— plus, it’s [...]

More about Emberverse 1

I already babbled about Emberverse 1, so I won’t repeat the links in this post. With that said, this series has consumed much of my free time in the past two weeks. I’ve finished both Dies the Fire and The Protector’s War. The gruesome factor went up in The Protector’s War, but with [...]

A BIG Stick, but no carrot

Emberverse 1

Reading a good book is such a pleasure. Currently, I’m devouring Dies the Fire by S.M. Stirling, the first of the Emberverse series.
I picked it up for Tee because the story description was exciting and the setting local-ish (Oregon and southern Idaho). He devoured it right quick. He put back The Protector’s War [...]

Exploring Making Do

Marla, over at My Semi Charmed Kind of Life, posted a recipe for pumpkin bread. While the recipe looks delicious, I make mention of it here because of the content of her post. She discusses her train of thought as she prepared to make the bread, noting she did not want to purchase an [...]

Yes

This does make me cry. Why are we still there? Haven’t we helped enough?

Catch up

[Note: This post is chock full of TMI. You've been warned!]
I’m not doing a good job, of late. Writing 5 days a week here has slid down the slope slightly. Rather than lament, let’s catch up!
How are you doing? Well I hope. I took a peek over at Lightning’s place and [...]
