Here it is, Wednesday again and I almost miss it

She lives =).  I’m okay, a little run down from a nasty sinus infection brought on by allergies and some sort of viral thingie, but I’m getting better. Rosie is dealing with the same thing, and she been feeling much worse.  She ended up with an ear infection and swollen tonsils.  No strep, though, so that’s good. How’s it going?  I haven’t been in much of an exercise mood lately; my program of late has consisted of a lot of naps. I did, however, get out in the yard a bit on Sunday and it felt really good.  The weather was warm, the dogs frittered around the yard.  Lew and I did some yard and deck clean up.  I also seeded a few pots with early spring items: bunching onions, romaine, butter lettuce, spinach and red leaf lettuce. I notice that my pot that housed cilantro the last few summers is hosting a new crop of seedling from my last batch of 2007.  Cool!!!My question to you is this: what is one form of exercise that you do on a regular basis that you don’t think of as exercise?  Sunni’s been sharing some of the activities she’s doing that are most often viewed as chores, rather than a workout, and she’s shared the exercise value she’s netted from them. Mine is yard work.  I’m bending, squatting, lifting, hauling, stretching.  I don’t feel it much at the time, but I do about an hour after I’m finished.  When I do it consistently during good weather, it sure makes me feel good.

  1. It may sound funny but my one form of exercise that I don’t think of as such is using my wringer washer.
First the water is carried out in buckets to fill the washer and rinse tub. Then the clothes are carried out, washed and rinsed. Then off I go to the clothes line. It is all good bending and stretching, along with toting the four gallon pail a number of times!

  2. Water and wet laundry is heavy! That’s a super workout, lots of weightbearing activity. Does your wringer washer use any electricity?
