I’ll try and not make this the Skeeter Yak Attack. =)
He is such a cute dog! I really enjoy his personality and he’s a pretty good listener for being so young. Since bringing him home, he’s only had a hand full of accidents. Those were mainly on Friday, right after we got home. I secluded him to the kitchen to prevent more accidents; the slider to the back yard is in that room. Once he figured out the slider was the key to outside, he’s let us know pretty consistently when he has to go potty.
Lew’s been the main walker, and Skeeter heels very well. Lew even took both dogs on a walk together and they did well. Miss Virginia didn’t pull as much as she normally does.
Skeeter can get Miss Virginia to play with him. They will play with a stuffed toy I gave Skeeter, or wrestle/chase each other. Gray Kitty came out of her hiding place in my room Saturday and Sunday evening— she hissed at Skeeter but didn’t run away.
One bit of trouble we’re working with—Skeeter growled at Rosie on Friday and at the vet on Sunday. He’s comfortable with Rosie now. He will come to her and let her rub his belly, he wags his tail when she talks to him. As for the vet, I’m sure part of the growly-ness was being poked and prodded. We want to nip the growly-ness in the bud, however, because it can lead to further aggression.
Today I came into work for a part day. I’m hoping Skeeter has been okay– I left the two dogs at home together because he’s still in the contagious period with the kennel cough. I imagine I’ll have a mess or two to clean up when I get home, since he hasn’t been outside since 8 am. I’ll find out soon…
