What would be your perfect evening of tv viewing?

The writer’s strike hasn’t effected our household at all, really.  We’ve enjoyed the new The Daily Show and The Colbert Report  episodes, but we’re not daily viewers so it’s not like we were wasting away due to old material. Over at Montag, B.W. discusses the strike and Starpulse’s suggestion for the ultimate tv primetime lineup.I wasn’t very impressed with their list. They included several theme nights, Joss Whedon, Sci-fi, and Western. I would have mixed it up a bit instead. Here’s a list of shows I would have included that were not on the list:

  • Scrubs  This has to be the funniest show I’ve ever watched.  It pokes fun at itself, it’s thoughtful without being mush-city and the storyline progresses throughout the seasons.
  • Saturday Night Live  It’s amazing they’ve been able to keep the live sketch comedy going for so many years. Yes, they’re known for some terrible clinkers, but when they get it right it’s brilliant.
  • The Flintstones  They invented the baby forever phenomenon.
  • Perry Mason Court tv that was clean cut and interesting.
  • If I was going to do a theme night, I’d do Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy and Joanie Loves Chachi.
  • Friends Enough said.
  • The Muppet Show  You can have the muppets without all the social programming (although I’m a sucker for old Sesame Street skits, too.)
