It looks like the little victories celebration Sunni proposed for this evening will need to begin without her. Sunni, I hope your connection problems are resolved soon!!!!!
A few folks began their celebrations early (here and
here). Their victories do not seem little to me, but rather momentous and exciting. I imagine they started out small, however, one baby step at a time.
My little victory isn’t quite as exciting but it means a lot to me. I’ve begun to add more exercise to my daily routine. The lifestyle Lew and I would like to lead for many years to come requires good health and strength, so I’m striving to increase my endurance, stamina and see a decrease in my asthma symptoms. I started with core exercises to strengthen my lower back, which I tweaked not long before Christmas 2007. It has been so good for my back, which feels 300% better now.
It’s been icky outside, mostly, but when we had a good day on Sunday, I took a 2.25 mile walk with Lew, Deadhead Girl and Miss Virginia. Lew and I rearranged our bedroom to create a little exercise area that’s bigger than I had before and today I moved my Exercycle into the space. I have room to use an exercise ball, too. I peddled this morning, which was a triumphant moment.
On the asthma front, to further aid a reduction in symptoms, we removed from our bedroom some items that were major dust collectors. Lew moved all the furniture, since we were rearranging anyway, and dusted or vacuumed under each piece. My night-time symptoms had been quite troublesome as of late, so these changes have been helping so much.
I put out the call for some exercise buddies and I have two so far, Sunni and Taran. I’m very happy to know that two friends are along for the ride; I look forward to hearing about their little victories on the exercise front. I hope to build connections with more exercise buddies in the coming days.
That’s about it for my little victory. We all have to start somewhere, right? Please join the party and share your little victory, either at Sunni’s place, on your own blog or in the comment section here. I know I’d love to hear about your journey, and I’m sure many other people out in the blogosphere would too.
Take care.

Yay for you!!!!!!
Thank you! I rode for a bit last night, too, before I went to bed.
It may seem like a “small victory” to you, but to me that’s a big victory … and it might switch over to that for you, too, once you’re where you want to be. Thanks for participating—and for encouraging others to do so on their sites too! I would really like to try to keep track of others’ contributions, so if you don’t want to post at my site or here, please consider emailing me the URL of your post, or emailing your comments to be posted by me at my place. I can do that with attribution or anonymously—whichever you prefer.
Here’s to a year full of victories, both large and small!

Yes indeed! I posted a link over at your place, Sunni, like you requested.
There’s another victory to share, but it’s not my story to tell. Maybe the person whose story it is will share here. She’s one of my most dedicated, and honest, readers. If she chooses to share, I’ll post a link over at your place.
