I’ve been promising more knittery photos for a while. I knitted up three gifts that I gave to family on Christmas. I knitted up two scarves, using a pattern my friend Kayely and I picked up at a knit meetup. One scarf was for my mother-in-law, also a knitter, and I blogged a bit about it as it was in process. The other I knit for Rosie out of the buttery, soft baby alpaca wool like Kayely was knitting with. Rosie’s scarf is eggplant purple and quite beautiful! I designed a purse for my niece, which I know I blogged a bit about but I can’t find the link to it right now. I have photos of two of the projects and will get a photo snapped soon of the third. Our camera is a bit fritzy, so some of the colors are weird. The pictures get across what the projects look like, however.
My mother-in-law’s scarf, knitted from a chunky Lion’s Brand wool blend, color Huckleberry
The purse I designed for my niece, knitted from some beaded, chenille type yarn purchased at Joanne Fabrics

Last, here is my entry for this year’s Tannenbaum decor contest. Grandpa’s entry was the largest. My sister’s was the prettiest (and the most anal—-she remade it four times). My brother-in-law’s was the most unique—- he made bells out of plastic practice golf balls.
don’t mind the gap on the right side; just admire the pretty beads =)

That scarf and purse are just beautiful! You did a great job with them.
Maybe someday I will learn that skill……..
You did a wonderful job on all your projects!
I want to learn how to knit too. I bought a kit with a book, I’ve watched countless videos on the internet and guess what?? I haven’t even figured out how to cast on yet! LOL! I haven’t given up totally yet, I’m going to try and find a real live person to show me the ropes.
Wow. Everything is so pretty! My daughter (7 years old) wants to learn how to knit … so, as a starter, I gave her some simple needlepoint material to learn some basics with. She was thrilled.
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us!
