A little flash

Sunni featured a flash fiction blog post in the past few months. The challenge was to write a story using 6 words. {help Sunni, I couldn’t find the archived page; I even used your new search tool}
I enjoy writing flash fiction, too, so I’d like to set up a scene [...]

WA Senator and Rep. “suggest” that state legislators give Bush a break.

Seattle PI article here. Whaaaa.. it’s for the children; let’s stop fighting!
I’m actually surprised that two WA State legislators have the balls to put forth bills to look into the impeachment process for Bush and Cheney. I say hold strong, State Sen. Eric Oemig, D-Kirkland and Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles, D-Seattle.

And now for something completely different…

As a fan of highway to hell bluegrass, I’d like to share with you a new find, via The Syndicate: Bluegrass Wrecks the Music of Tenacious D: This Is Just a Tribute. They have samples of this interesting (and some may profane; I just call it good, get-up-and-go fun) cd up on [...]

Life With My Lobster

I’m sounding the cheese alert, so that all my readers who are allergic to schmaltz can skip this post.
On the way home from the grocery store, I listened to Patience by Guns N’ Roses. While Lew considers More than Words by Extreme to be “our song,” it is my opinion that Patience [...]

MMmmmm….

Today, I attended my business networking group, aka the lip stick rant group. We’re meeting at a new restaurant for lunch—- this was our first meeting there, in fact. Our waiter kept calling me “Sweetie” and “Hon,” like Flo on that Alice show from the 70’s. Only, he was [...]

Knit 1, Purl 2

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of sharing the company of three terrific women. Laira was gracious and set up a knitting lesson for herself, G and me. Our teacher, Cass, is one incredible lady. She’s lived more life in her one than ten people usually live in theirs.
I’ve practiced, made mistakes, [...]

Watada case ends in mistrial after two days

You can read the story in the Seattle PI here . My question is: What happens to Watada now? The defense team opposed a mistrial. The judge granted it because the prosecution asked for it, due to the fact that stipulations Watada signed should have included the reason why he [...]

Phil Who?

I am:
Philip José Farmer
This prolific author brings surprising depths to he-man adventure tales, and broke science fiction’s prudery barrier.

Which science fiction writer are you?
I guess I was a ground breaker by writing about sex between humans and aliens. I also wrote extensively about real and literary characters in a netherworld setting. You can read [...]

“Fake liberty is just another form of hate,” Gov’t Mule

While at the library last week, I picked up High and Mighty, Gov’t Mule’s latest CD. The first time I played it through, I didn’t think it was as good as The Deep End I, my favorite Gov’t Mule CD. It’s growing on me, however. The range of music styles that color [...]
